Robotics

Robotics is becoming increasingly popular in many schools worldwide. There are many benefits to teaching robotics to students. These include developing creative thinking, teamwork skills, programming skills, and perseverance. Not only is involvement with robotics a highly engaging experience, it is also a lot of fun!

The 2017 robotics club started in early June and the students put a lot of extra hours in to practice for the upcoming international competition, the WRO2017 (World Robotics Olympiad). For the first time ever the school sent a team to this prestigious competition, which was held at Rangsit University in Bangkok in early September. The students performed really well and ended in the top 30 out of over 100 participating teams. This was however not good enough to go through to the international final round which was held in Costa Rica, but we are looking forward to WRO2018, which will be held in Khon Kaen and Chiang Mai. The robotics club has become increasingly popular with many students wanting to join the club. We are looking forward to establishing PHS as a strong regional competitor.
