M5 Community Support Field Trip 2020

In the last 5 years PHS students have worked with blind students from a number of schools from the Christian Foundation for the Blind. This year, due to the COVID Pandemic, we are unable to have a camp with other students, but PHS students still want to continue with the fundraising and contribute to a disadvantaged school.

Also due to the COVID Pandemic our fundraising has had to change, this year we intend to make the fundraising online through different activities.

Over the last 5 years PHS students have raised 885,000 Baht. It would be fantastic if this year PHS M5 students could bring this total to over a million Baht.

In 2020 PHS 5 had the task of raising funds for the Bangkok school for the Blind. They had to complete 3 tasks:

1. Raise money to take a group of blind students on camp with them.

2. Host the Panyarat FundFair to raise money for the camp.

3. Organise activities for the camp.

PHS 5 took to this with zeal! The market visits were a great success, as were the lunchtime sales. Bubble tea proved to be a favourite. Their total this year was an amazing 310,000 Baht.

Due to availability, the camp was with the students from Pattaya School for the Blind. The PHS students met them at Sattahip. The camp was a great success, with beach games and activities, an art sho where the PHS students presented their ‘art for the blind’, games and activities made by PHS M5 students and finally horse riding and ice creams!

The students from both schools had a great time and made new friends. PHS students returned, exhausted, but satisfied with a job very well done.

Students are looking forward to visiting the Bangkok School for the Blind in March for another fun day!
