PHS STEAM Challenge

At Panyarat High School, PHS, we put a great deal of emphasis on competition, we understand the importance of academic competition in motivating students, they learn the value of winning, losing, and trying their best. It develops team skills and cooperation, by helping mobilize teams to achieve more, which gives a huge sense of success.

In an effort to encourage more competition in younger Thai students, Panyarat STEAM Challenge on Friday January 26, 2024. This event is for students from Primary 4-6 of schools in Thailand. At PHS , we want to create a welcoming venue for students to showcase their abilities in a competitive atmosphere, therefore PHS offers its facilities as a level playing ground to motivate students to be more competitive in their education at an earlier age.

The Competition will be contested by a maximum of 40 teams of 3 students each from Thai, Bilingual, or English Program Primary Schools. They will compete in 3 challenges areas;

1. Subject Knowledge Challenge: A multiple choice quiz in the English Language that will cover Maths, Science, and Social Studies;
2. English Skills Triathlon: where 1 member of the 3 person team will split and individually compete in either a Public speaking, Creative writing, or Spelling bee;
3. Engineering Challenge: where the entire team of 3 will together solve a problem by designing and constructing a competitive solution.

And 1 scavenger hunt that aims to bring the students together for a series of challenges in mixed groups to foster inter-school collaboration and communication in a fun and inquisitive activity.
