World Environment Day

World Environment Day, celebrated on June 5th every year, is a global initiative to raise awareness and take action on pressing environmental issues. It encourages individuals, communities, and governments to come together to protect our planet. People worldwide participate in activities like tree planting, clean-up campaigns, and educational events to promote sustainability. It’s a reminder of the importance of preserving nature for future generations. From reducing plastic waste to promoting renewable energy, World Environment Day inspires collective efforts towards a healthier and more sustainable world. It serves as a call to action for everyone to play their part in caring for the environment.

On this day during activity period, PHS would like to promote World Environment Day 2024 at the school to support our Ecofriendliness and to raise awareness of the Environment and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). On Wednesday, students will be asked to wear earth colours and/or environment related clothes. In activity period on Wed 5th, there will a short presentation  about World Environment Day, focusing on the related SDGs, along with the announcement of a competition for the students to take part in.  The presentation will highlight the day, what the aims are and what our competition is. There will be some examples to inspire the students.
