M1 – How To Make Flapjacks

Teaching M1 How to Make Flapjacks: A Sweet Success Story! 🥞🧈🍽
As a treat for all their hard work this academic year, M1 went to the PHS kitchen for their final class of Work Education to make flapjacks using Kru Graham’s grandmother’s recipe. Working in small groups of 4-5 students, they learned how to accurately weigh out two kinds of oats, brown sugar and butter and then how to use a bain marie to gently melt the butter. All the ingredients were then combined, divided into 5 portions and baked in the oven for 8 minutes. Not only was the kitchen full of smiles and laughter, but also the wonderful smell of baking flapjacks too.
